Proportioning Valve Repairs
Proportioning valves essentially restrict flow to the rear brakes, ensuring adequate rear breaking without the risk of locking up the rear wheels. Found mostly on service vehicles, Utes, Vans, Trucks, with an arm designed to increase braking pressure based on vehicle load, hence the name 'Load Valve' or in older passenger vehicles with no load arm, called 'Proportioning Valves'. While in newer vehicles the ABS module does the proportioning, doing away with the conventional proportioning valve. Common issues include leaks, too much flow, or not enough flow, causing a braking imbalance.
